All our books are made in both paperback and e-books.
There are now two anthologies open and are listed below. Please read the guidelines before submitting. For up to the minute updates, go to our Facebook page and 'LIKE' us.
Working Title: ZOMBIE TALES
Publisher: Undead Press
Release Date: Spring 2012 or sooner
What we want:
Fun zombie stories. action, intelligent, thinking, fast or slow, as long as it's an entertaining read we hope to accept it. Gore is good. We like gore. And blood, lots of blood; and intestines. Did we say spleens? Spleens are good, so are kidneys, and severed heads are a nice bonus, too.
Payment is one author’s copy if the story is 3,800 words or larger, give or take a hundred. But more is better. Anything under will be considered as well but no payment. Longer stories will be considered first, too
Cover art will appear in Jan.
Your story only needs two things to qualify:
* A fun story about zombies.
* Needs to be basically finished and edited other than copy-editing done by us.
We may have to edit heavier if story is rough. if it's an issue, tell us in email upon submitting. If it's take it as is or leave it, we'll probably leave it. We don't edit heavy unless it's necessary.
Location of author:
You need to be in the US, UK or Canada to get a book. Any other country is open for submissions but only if you wave your author’s copy. Too much to ship there.
If you want to wave your book copy, you can be from other countries, too.
What rights do we want?
First print and electronic rights to your story for 1 year after publication date, that’s exclusive, too. After that you can resell it. But we do have the right to use the story for as long as there is a demand for the book. And if you need it earlier when close to return date, let us know, we’re flexible.
What we don’t want:
* No porn (sex is okay if it’s valid to the story.)
* Swearing is fine but don’t get carried away, relevance to story.
* No reprints,
unless it’s some obscure place that no one’s ever heard of. And let us know at time of submission.
What we’re making:
Zombie Tales will be published as a trade paperback and an e-book, (Amazon Kindle and Book Nook by Barnes & Noble).
What you get:
One contributor’s copy of the book if the story is over 3,800 words.
The paperback copy of the book will be sent to you upon or shortly after the book’s official release date. We have up to a month from release date but it doesn’t usually take that long.
Anything under will be considered but no payment. but has to be at least 1,500 words.
What to send:
Make sure your name, address, email and phone number (if in US) is on the first page of your story.
Make all stories SINGLE SPACED and, please, no tabs. Flush to the left. (The reason is software compatibility)
Any words you want in Italics should be in Italics and also underlined.
Other than that, standard submission rules apply.
RTF (wordpad) or Microsoft word is fine. no word 2007 or above. send in 2003 or rtf
If there are software compatibility problems, then we’ll ask you to send another way if necessary.
Where to send it:
Send submission when it’s ready via email to

Working Title: CALVACADE OF TERROR
Publisher: Undead Press
Release Date: Spring 2012 or sooner
What we want:
Horror stories. Can be about anything as long as the story is horror. So it can be about ghosts, serial killers, Lovecraftian, monsters, ect. Let's try to keep the zombies at bay here, we have another anthology for that going now.
Sometimes when you get an anthology and it's a theme, it can get old reading story after story about ghosts in the West or killers who only kill at night. So with a wide-rounded anthology of horror, the reader gets to tatse so much more and never knows what the next story is about. It keeps things fresh.
Formatting rules and guidelines are the same as for Zombie Tales so look there if not sure.
The only other issue is payment and that's where this anthology is doing something different. Where normally in doing an anthology of this nature there would be no payment, this time there is and this is what it is:
Living Dead Press has overstock books, at least 50 or so titles to choose from; everything from Dead Valley to Dead Worlds Vol 1 and 2 to Book of Cannibals to Eternal Night to the End of Days series. So if your story is around 3,500 words or more, you get to choose the book you would like as payment. When it's time to send out books, all writers will get a list they can choose from with their 1st and 2nd choice, and even 3rd is good, as some books are limited.
This is just our way of saying thank you and that whether you write for fun or as a career, we respect you, but we also have to keep costs down or we won't be here tomorrow. Anthologies are a tricky thing at best and are usually made for love of literature, not money.
